Bitcoin Cash is digital money. It was created by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009, under the name Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System, as a monetary system with the following characteristics:

  • It does not rely on a central issuer;
  • Transactions do not require intermediaries (they are peer-to-peer);
  • The monetary policy is pre-set (programmed issuance and a limit of 21 million units).

Since 2017, the original version of Bitcoin has been rebranded as Bitcoin Cash to emphasize its use as electronic cash.
